Thanks for the info. I will monitor /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_gem_objects
and report the results here.

In the mean time, I had another crash, but this time with a segmentation fault:

I thought I had configured X to generate a core file, but cannot find one.
Should I put the NoTrapSignals option in xorg.conf for a core file to be
generated?
