why doesn't your message include *what* pwm chip is it looked for? I was
getting:

[   15.203281] [drm:pwm_setup_backlight [i915]] *ERROR* Failed to own the pwm
chip: pwm_lpss

What is your exact kernel version and what patches have you applied? The
patches from Shobhit explicitly add the name of the pwm in the trace.
