            Bug ID: 96479
Summary: X crashes in openSUSE Tumbleweed with the drm/i915
                    driver
           Product: xorg
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: medium
         Component: Driver/intel
          Assignee: chris at chris-wilson.co.uk

output from dmesg after a minor crash

While working on my Plasma 5 desktop, in the least severe of the cases the
screen often freezes and a message pops up in the notifications saying effects
have been restarted.

However, once or twice a day, the whole screen freezes, the X server crashes
and I am sent back to the login. I have been unable to see a pattern to these
crashes.

Relevant part of dmesg after a crash attached.

I am using kernel 4.6.0-1.

Here and successive comments I am attaching the following text files:

dmesg.txt > output from dmesg after a minor crash
intel_error_decode.txt > output from intel_error_decode after a minor crash
dmesg2.txt > output from dmesg after a major crash
intel_error_decode2.txt > output from intel_error_decode after a major crash

i915.txt > relevant output from lspci regarding my hardware
xorg.txt > output from Xorg -version

Thanks
