            Bug ID: 95300
Summary: [SKL GT3e][feature power/GT] Screen goes blank and
computer crashes hard when RC6 is enabled
           Product: DRI
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: Other
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: DRM/Intel
          Assignee: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: thiago at kde.org

On the Dell XPS 13 9350 Developer Edition[1] model, I've been experiencing
random system-wide hard crashes that bring the entire machine down. Symptoms:

 * screen goes blank
 * screen does NOT turn off
 * keyboard backlight still works and reacts to keypresses
 * caps lock LED does not respond, SysRq rebooting does not respond
 * network connectivity stops (no ping reply)

I don't have a crash log, since the machine goes down before anything gets
logged (if anything gets logged). I tried to dmesg -w | netcat to another
machine and nothing is received.

I have almost reliably reproduced the issue like this:
 1) open chromium
 2) go to http://speedtest.xfinity.com

When i915.enable_rc6=0, the problem apparently disappears (still running more
extensively to be sure).

Tested with:
 4.5.0
 4.6.0-rc5
 4.6.0-rc6
 4.6.0-rc6 drm-intel-nightly (871c895)

Running 64-bit, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, connected to the internal display panel
only (eDP). I have the latest firmwares.

SKL i7-6560U, graphics is 8086:1926 (glxinfo reports "MESA DRI Intel(R) Iris
Graphics 540 (Skylake GT3e)").
