Oh, no. Jubilation was premature! Screen is still flickering on Thinkpad T440p,
but very-very rarely (like once in a hour or ten minutes) with
i915.enable_psr=1. And rather frequently with i915.enable_psr=2, which
indicates that problem was not eradicated completely. I'm currently testing
with second VGA monitor attached, if it matters.
