>Exactly what was the latest kernel you tried?
I tried to install the core 4.8 of the official Debian repositories.

>Does it boot with
i915.modeset=0 passed on the kernel command line?
The LiveUSB mode system loaded almost completely, but the flashing cursor
appears in the console after loading. No commands can not be entered. When you
press Alt + Strl + Share system reboots normally.
This I tried on Manjaro 16.08 example.

>If so can you paste the
dmesg? Can you log in remotely and grab the dmesg when broken?
If you try to install the new kernel in the old system, it will be possible,
however, all new distributions do not provide even a boot to the desktop.
The laptop I used for important things, so I hardly can experiment with
reinstalling the OS. But I'll do it if you tell me that you have a file dmesg
important for solving my problem.
