I haven't really thought it through, but I think what might be happening is
that the fbdev hotplug processing never happens in this case. Presumably we
should actually do it at the restore_fbdev time since the hotplug happened
while fbdev was not in charge of things and so couldn't respond to the hotplug
at the time when it actually happened. I guess we could call it a new bug, just
so the bug report won't be full of oops reports. But I think we may want to
hold off opening a new bug until/if these current patches are accepted. I'll go
send them out now.
