Guys, let's at least try to solve this thing. It's been sitting around for over
a year and is impacting basic functionality. I can provide further logs or do
additional testing if needed, but I need some input from the devs.

The issue has been verified on three different systems - of which two are
Haswell-based and one is Ivy Bridge, so something has definitely changed wrt.
how the signal is being output on the secondary display to the projector on
both the driver and kernel level.
