Hi.

  Thanks for your responses. Indeed I didn't see this hang for quite some time
now and I do not really know what fixed it. I use stock ubuntu kernel (4.4) and
oibaf drivers. I guess this can be closed for now and I will post more comments
if this hang happens again.
