FWIW, Ubuntu 16.10 just upgraded to linux 4.8.0-11-generic, which must be based
on 4.8-rc7, and I'm not seeing the flickering window anymore. Is there a patch
that Ubuntu has applied, seeing as how Elio reproduced the bug in rc7?
