At a glance, the screenshots look like the image is vertically scaled to half.
Is that right?

Is the image all right at boot and in the bios and grub screens?

If so, please grab the tools/intel_reg tool from intel-gpu-tools [1], and
provide 'intel_reg dump' output for 1) when i915 has not been loaded yet, and
2) after i915 has loaded.
