--- Comment #15 from Paul Menzel <pmenzel at molgen.mpg.de> ---
A user here experiences a similar issue on a *Dell Inc. OptiPlex 7010* with the
monitor *DELL U2410*. X.Org Server 1.19.3 is used with the modesetting driver.

```
$ lspci -nn -s 0:02.0
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v2/3rd
Gen Core processor Graphics Controller [8086:0162] (rev 09)
$ more /proc/version
Linux version 4.9.20.mx64.147
(root at lassmichmalbittekurznachdenken.molgen.mpg.de) (gcc version 5.3.0 (GCC) )
#1 SMP Mon Apr 3 09:59:18 CEST 2017
```

Turning off the monitor, and back on again, it goes into powersaving mode.
Restarting the X.Org Server with for example `systemctl restart gdm.service`
fixes the problem.

Please tell me, if you want me to open a separate bug report for this issue.
