To clarify once more:

We all don't have a problem with PCM audio. That works fine everywhere. We are
talking about HD audio passthrough some call it bitstreaming. That means
passing through a raw bitstream for DTS-HD / DTS-X / TrueHD / Dolby Atmos and
so on.

You can verify this by testing e.g.:

aplay -D hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=0,AES0=0x06 -c8 -fs16_le -r192000 dts.spdif

Please let me emphasize once again: 
This bug is not about PCM output - it is a bout raw passthrough - see the
AES0=0x06 in the above command in above command.
