Are you sure it's LSPCON related issue?
It's true that there were LSPCON related problems in NUCs and that were fixed
by it's firmware update.

Moreover I have 'ASUS P10S-M WS' with similar setup where internal DP port is
connected through unknown convertor chip to HDMI output connector. Considering
that this chip
works fine (DTSHD passthrough) under Windows 10 without any firmware updates I
would assume that it's not LSPCON chip, but HD-audio is broken in linux anyway.
Also the board has additional DP output[1], which has the same HD-audio
passthrough issues under linux but works fine under Windows.

Considering that issue affects other HW,
I'd not limit BZ to LSPCON only as the problem is wider,
so I'd keep BZ title as it's been before.
it looks like DP is a common denominator on all boards that exhibit the problem
regardless of internal/external convertor,
so it looks like the place to start looking for issue.

(1) - to connect DP output to HDMI reciever I use:
        Club3D DisplayPort 1.2 Cable to HDMI 2.0 Active Adapter (P/N: CAC-1073)
