Please add drm.debug=14 module parameter, attach dmesg from the boot, *without*
the patch.

Please attach /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_vbt

Please also check the dmesg *with* the patch, and see what the dmesg has about
panel type. It'll be one of these debug messages:

DRM_DEBUG_KMS("Panel type: %d (OpRegion)\n", panel_type);
DRM_DEBUG_KMS("Panel type: %d (VBT)\n", panel_type);

i.e. I want to know what the panel type reported by opregion is.
