I've now (finally) switched to kernel 4.10-rc6.

I'm using the latest xf86-video-intel available from ubuntu for 16.04 [1].
Given I've only ever seen this hang once (so it would be difficult to know if
an upgrade fixes it or not), I'm not convinced that expending the effort on
building and installing from source would be worthwhile.
