Your display resolution is no where near 4K.
Can you retest with at least 2560x1440 as was originally reported?

Can you share the script that was used to collect the package version info?

I'm willing to try any Debian Testing (buster) kernel or package. I'm currently
still running "stretch" release but am happy to migrate to buster.

Buster currently has 4.11.0-1 kernel:
