Hello,

I'm new here.
I have just purchased a HP Spectre x360 - 15-bl003nf

Intel® Core™ i7-7500U
NVIDIA® GT 940MX

and I have the exact same problem whatever the graphic card drivers I use.
I have tested without success the following kernels :
v 4.8.0
v 4.9.37
v 4.12

So I have reverted back to the kernel 4.7.4 and now all is working fine (but
some stuff doesn't work in 4.7.4 like the stylus and the touch)

I haven't yet tested the patched kernels.
I just learned to use Ukuu, so I need to know more how to proceed with them
before trying.

I think you should reopen the Bug 97918.
