dmesg
The game Pillars of Eternity (current steam version) froze on the character
level up screen after clicking the next button. The computer froze for a few
seconds, then the game crashed. The computer continued running (no system
hang). The kernel log ends with:
[ 8174.996148] [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 8:0:0x85dffffb, in PillarsOfEterni [9281],
reason: Hang on render ring, action: reset
[ 8174.996150] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx
stack, including userspace.
[ 8174.996150] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org
against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[ 8174.996151] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right
component if it's not a kernel issue.
[ 8174.996151] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so
please always attach it.
[ 8174.996152] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[ 8174.996182] drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang
Full kernel log and crash dump attached.
