I just tried to bump Mesa to 17.3-rc4 with the 
Padoka Stable PPA
https://launchpad.net/~paulo-miguel-dias/+archive/ubuntu/pkppa and the crash is
still there. I'm downgrading to 17.0.2 where I was able to play correctly.
