            Bug ID: 105839
           Summary: TB3 + MST Hub
           Product: DRI
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: DRM/Intel
          Assignee: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: jam01 at protonmail.com
        QA Contact: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
                CC: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org

Displays settings menu and xrandr will report 2 external monitors connected but
the monitors do not display anything.

The hardware:

Thinkpad T470
  Intel i7-7600U
  Intel HD Graphics 620
  16GB of RAM

2x Asus 229H-P HDMI monitors
1x TB3 Startech dock -> 1x DP
1x Monoprice DP -> 2x HDMI adapter

Software:
  Fedora 27
  GNOME 3.26.2
  ?

boltctl 0.1-2 reports the TB3 dock as authorized, security: none. I disabled
TB3 security in BIOS.

When I first installed all the hardware it was not quite working, but fiddling
around with the displays settings menu both external monitors came on. Usually
only one monitor would come on but I saw that if I lowered the resolution of
one monitor and then changed it back, then both would work. Some major
flickering would occur across both of them but they'd stay on. If laptop went
to sleep they would not come back on wake, it would just crash. Which sounds
related to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103474 and
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105716

Eventually it got worse so I'd check for dnf update every now and then. Now I
can only ever get one monitor to actually come on and have run out of ideas.

I'm sure there's need for logged activity but I don't have a lot of experience
gathering that. Let me know what logs or what commands to run and I'll do so.
