X log file from server invocation causing the error
There is a bug in the X server that configures a three-output setup (LVDS, DP,
HDMI) if the monitors on HDMI and DP support the same timings (this is correct
if the DP output is used in HDMI compatibility mode, but incorrect for DP
mode).
When the X server shuts down afterwards, none of the outputs (not even the
LVDS) work.
Configuration is a Fujitsu LifeBook E782 with HD4000 graphics, using the
internal panel and the DP and DVI outputs on the docking station.
