Underlying bug still present as of kernel ~4.18rc3.

I've experimented with my newest trigger case, and I can determine that the
trigger for the bug depends on the window manager in use. So far, I've only
been able to replicate the issue with cinnamon and gnome-/mate-terminal, but I
haven't thoroughly tested every possibility.
