Ben,

Not sure what we can do about this bug, given that FreeBSD has a
sufficiently-different codebase... Any recommendation?

In the mean time, I lowered the priority as FreeBSD is not a supported
platform, but we can still share some expertise to help whoever will debug this
issue.
