Not sure what Kconfig option would affect this issue.

As another approach to narrow down the problem, could you try - right after
triggering the problem - disabling the low-power fifo mode and see if the
problem is still reproducible? Please also provide the output for the script:

# cd /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0
# for plane in pri cur spr; do
>       cat i915_${plane}_wm_latency
