openSUSE Tumbleweed system running 4.18.5-1-default kernel routinely crashes
video with screen and cursor freezing then resetting to login prompt. 
Subsequent login will hang system after a few minutes with no recovery. 
journalctl showed the following message:

Sep 03 08:58:40 snorelax kernel: [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in
the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
Sep 03 08:58:40 snorelax kernel: [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on
bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
Sep 03 08:58:40 snorelax kernel: [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to
the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
Sep 03 08:58:40 snorelax kernel: [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to
analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.
Sep 03 08:58:40 snorelax kernel: [drm] GPU crash dump saved to
/sys/class/drm/card0/error

rcs0

Unfortunately, the crash log at the location specified in the error message is
0 bytes in length.
