            Bug ID: 108048
Summary: Screen flickering till it goes blank (console login,
                    no X)
           Product: DRI
           Version: DRI git
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: DRM/Intel
          Assignee: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: sten.heinze at gmx.de
        QA Contact: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
                CC: intel-gfx-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org

On my HP Elitebook Folio G1, I have flickering (on the laptop screen) after
boot for a while now. The flickering increases with time and the screen goes
blank after one or two minutes. With the screen blank, the system is still
working, I can type blindly or log in using ssh, and shut down or reboot it.

Initially I experienced it on the KDE desktop that I had installed, e.g.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nZ4Z_Y1pDtylS11FqZ0PSU5a5G2QxAxM/.

Attempting to locate the problem, I removed and later reinstalled a minimal
system with just console login (no X, no libdrm, no mesa), but the problem
persists.

I see this problem with the Debian kernels 4.17.8-1, 4.17.17-1, 4.18.6-1, but
also with drm-tip that I compiled a couple days ago (4.19.0-rc4).

I do not see anything that stands out to me in any log that I've looked at, but
I'm happy to provide anything that can be helpful.

Thanks!

Sten
