journalctl_failed boot

X server fails with modesetting error and blank screen without nomodeset [(EE)
modeset(0): failed to set mode: Invalid argument].
GPU: IntelĀ® HD Graphics 400 (Braswell)
CPU: N3050
Screen 0 connected on eDP-1
Acer es1-131 notebook

Tested versions from ubuntu disco dingo 5.0.0-8, stable 5.0.5/5.0.6,lts
4.19.33-4.19.25.
Working only on 4.19.25 and lower.

After reverting upstream commit d179b88deb3bf6fed4991a31fd6f0f2cad21fab5
(https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/286290/) works without nomodeset
parameter tested on 4.19.33-4.19.26/5.0.5/5.0.6/ubuntu 5.0.0-8.

Attempted suggested fix from
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109959 does fix the issue.

Because I don't know what other information is required/feasable I'm able to
test and provide necessary logs.

Thanks for your great work!

Sincerely yours newcomer,
Rosen Papazov
