David, I think the devs here prefer that you make a separate bug report
specific to your SKU. Please also attach in the new bug report i915_vbt files
and if possible also dmesg with drm.debug=0x1e as detailed here:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108826 . Then maybe you can link
the new bug report here so those visiting this one can at least get visibility
on your possibly related issue.

Jani, Ville, is there any way you can know what Windows and its iGPU driver
does right in these hardware? Is there any other way to somehow control the
suspect PMIC, perhaps with ACPI?

More importantly, can we be promised a fix for our related of set display
issues? From us users' perspective, it's looking more like Intel hasn't really
been keen on supporting Gemini Lake the same way as the more marketed parts.
The ecosystem seem to lack a standardized way of doing things, and there's
little to no documentation around to see. That's really frustrating, as we're
now at a time where people are made to expect good Linux support for any of
their Intel-powered devices. And the people who buy these lower-end devices
aren't exactly those who can afford to buy a new one with better support. We
want Linux on these devices because we want more longevity for our devices.
It's just plain disappointing.

Sorry for the rant. I just want to have closure on this issue.
