I might have an idea what actually happens:

1. Jenkins loses connection to the machine
2. because of that igt_runner gets SIGHUP or so
3. runner dies, so all fds are closed
4. all watchdogs are closed but without preceding magic "V" to stop them
   so we get the "watchdog: watchdog0: watchdog did not stop!" in dmesg

We could get some signal handlers in place to be more explicit about runner
dying.
