Hi Jerome,

Thanks for checking that out.

Since we had a lot of history here on this bug entry and the new bad behavior
is so different from the original one I believe the best to do is to close
this bug as fixed and file a new one with logs and info on the new behavior.

Could you please do that?

Also, for the new one, I believe it is also good to test modesets using xrandr
besides gnome tool so we can try to narrow down a bit the failure and not
depend on specific user space component.
