Reporter, Can you attach the dmesg from boot.
Have you tried to verify the issue with drmtip?

Black screen is shown only when starting X? What did you do immediately to see
the normal screen? Asking this to know the impact of this bug. 
Is this issue reproducible every time? Would be good to see the results from
drmtip.
