Ah yes it's the fast and narrow vs. wide and slow thing.
[ 3.263107] [drm:intel_dp_init_connector [i915]] eDP DPCD: 04 93 a6
So this is a eDP 1.4a sink, which means we'll go for the fast and narrow
instead of the old wide and slow apporach.
