Ah, thanks! I haven't recompiled to revert back to your patch and add the
proper parameter yet, but I can confirm that Albert's original patch works
perfectly for me, so I assume yours would as well (if I'd provided the proper
parameters).

I can provide dmesg/edid from my system as well if needed, but it sounds like
this is pretty well narrowed-down at this point. Many thanks to all!
