How can YCBCR420 be enabled? I can not see anything even resembling that mode
in xrandr's verbose output.

All I see is
"Colorspace: BT2020_CYCC
supported: Default, SMPTE_170M_YCC, BT709_YCC, XVYCC_601, XVYCC_709, SYCC_601,
