Has there been any development wrt. implementing a boot-time max_bpc setting
(kernel parameter to the i915 module), which mirrors the functionality of
'xrandr --set 'max bpc' 8' ?
I am afraid that the lack of this functionality will rule out running an Intel
GPU on affected systems, as the display is completely blank during boot and
logging in to the X-server (which becomes an impossibility) is required in
order to override the detected bpc setting and return the system to a
functioning state.
