This issue is still every day. Last occurence was 2 days ago. Seen on skl, icl,
hsw and tgl.

EDID is compared from 2 sources i2c and drm. in most failures either the i2c
edid is read as all zeroes or the DRM edid is NULL. the mismatch causes the
failure. Failure to get correct EDID would mean improper display configuration.
