        <pre>dmsg originally showed that the driver hung.

Checking syslogs revealed that the driver attempted to restart several times
unsuccessfully.

All log information has now disappeared, but the delay is so significant that I
have abandoned the effort. An inexpensive 64 bit GPU (even though this is a 32
bit system) will clean up the issue, so I've converted the platform to a simple
server and will update the graphics capabilities when the card shows up.

Thank you for your help, but the driver appears to have installed successfully.
Unfortunately the platform is unusable due to performance issues.
