I've reported it at bugzilla.kernel.org (

be reported here.

Some further info: This must've been introduced between 4.4 and 4.5. I wanted
to bisect it, but it's not easy as I don't have a reliable way to reproduce the
bug.

The system is a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2014 edition (20A7), the GPU is listed as
"Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0b)" by lspci.</pre>
