<pre>I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 with 4.6.0-040600-generic from Mainline Kernel builds
and I'm experiencing a similar bug, with this log in dmesg:

underrun
I'm using a 2015 MacBook with
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Broadwell-U Integrated
Graphics (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
and when this dmesg line appears, my xorg session completely freeze, only the
mouse pointer keeps moving. I can switch to another tty and the system is
working normally, restarting XOrg works too</pre>
