I've tried the ubuntu kernel ppa mainline, and by using this one <a href="http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-nightly/2016-06-21-yakkety/">http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-nightly/2016-06-21-yakkety/</a> which I guess it's based on the commit you were mentioning, flickering is gone: I can change the screen resolution and even after screensaver resume there's no flickering. However, when using desktop effects like "show all windows/expose" (both in unity with compiz and with KDE) there's some flickering... By the way, while using kernel 4.2 I used to fix the flickering by reverting the commits mentioned in <a class="bz_bug_link bz_status_REOPENED " title="REOPENED - [bdw edp] Screen Flickering" href="show_bug.cgi?id=91393#c25">https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91393#c25</a> and recompiling the kernel. This reverting cannot be done on kernel 4.4 though.
