> dmesg is kernel log, but getting from the boot time is better
How do I obtain it ?
> do you have intel_drv.so located in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/?
No, I don't
> BTW did you encounter this issue after an update of Ubuntu or a fresh Install of 16.04?
This is a fresh install on a new laptop.
Surprisingly, the package "xserver-xorg-video-intel" was not installed...
However, other than the occasional glitch, I have been able to watch HD videos
and play games fine.
I've reinstalled the drivers.
I will report after a restart.
Thank you for helping me out. :)
