And seems back light is also working from your description. Perhaps there is something going wrong when UI starts. Would need more debug if you can you boot in console mode kernel param: "text". And if you are able to get console, then run intel-gpu-tools and use test_display utility to test the display. It should show you sample image for 800x1200 resolution on DSI if it works. Also share the /var/log/Xorg.0.log in normal boot scenario in case your console is working fine and test_display is successful.
