Okay, this means i915.enable_dpcd_backlight=1 doesn't matter.
What's under /sys/class/backlight/? Under each directory there, can you change
backlight by echoing (as root) values between 0 and $(cat max_brightness) to
the brightness sysfs attribute file?</pre>
