<pre>So looks like a lot of panel types have the timing the BIOS used. I pushed a
hack to
git://github.com/vsyrjala/linux.git panel_type_modparam
so pleas grab that and try passing i915.vbt_sdvo_panel_type=0 onto the kernel
command line. That should at least tell us if using better timings would fix
the display problem.
After that we still have the problem of figuring out how we're supposed to
deduce the correct panel type automagically.</pre>
