<pre>Hmm. So the answer I got from some Windows folks is that they always expect to
have an EDID for eDP panels. That would mean that the real problem is somewhere
in out i2c-over-aux handling since we clearly are unable to read the EDID from
the panel.
Please try this branch and attach the resulting dmesg (w/ drm.debug=0xe):
