<pre>I meant to add that sometimes my display flickers without any corresponding
messages from dmesg. For example, my display has flickered several times since
the last boot, and the only messages from i915 are the messages from when it
loaded. No FIFO underruns reported. I have seen those messages in dmesg in
the past too, but they don't seem directly correlated to external display
flicker at all.</pre>
