"Fixed in the latest stable 4.8.6 kernel".
If you follow the links, you see the message "commit xyz upstream" which hints
that it got backported. See also the changelog in

Under what circumstances? Any special cmdline, patches or userspace packages?
So far it seems to work for me (i7-6700HQ, Arch Linux, 4.8.6-1).</pre>
