        <pre>Kernel 4.9 has once again caused the weird display artifacting and occasional
rainbow glitching/flickering. The aforementioned patch no longer fixes the
problem, something new must be causing this issue now. Unfortunately, I have no
idea where this problem might occur because there were thousands of lines
changed in the drivers/gpu/drm/i915 folder between 4.8.x and 4.9. Any support
would be welcome here, this is an unfortunate graphics issue. For the time
being, I'm stuck on 4.8.x with Broadwell U graphics. Again, the
intel_opregion.c file was NOT changed, it must be something else among the i915
changes.</pre>
