Paul,
can you try this hack patch to see if it behaving correctly? Please revert the
previous patch which added 1s delay.
The only driver needing this functionality - to have the poll disabled after
init - is nouveau, all other drivers are happy (so far) with the no delay
handling of the delayed events. The events are delayed because when they
happened the poll_init was not called so the poll_work can not be executed.
